Experience the natural beauty of Bled, considered to be the pearl of the Slovenian Alps. With its emerald-green lakes, centuries-old cathedrals, and towering mountains, it is the perfect area to explore in a fun day trip from Ljubljana.
Depart from Ljubljana for a full day of exploring this lovely region
See towering glaciers and emerald green waters of Bohinj Lake
Visit St. John's Church and learn about its 13th century frescoes
Enjoy a boat ride on a typical Plenta to Bled Island
Slovenia's Julian Alps mountain range is nothing short of breathtaking. With cascading glaciers, towering peaks and peacefully running rivers, it is an incredible region to explore by foot, bus, or boat. Today, you will do all three.
You depart on a bus for a scenic tour of the lake. Your guide will point out interesting sights and historical information while you relax on the journey. We will then visit the Bled castle for a tour before departing on a traditional Plenta boat to the islands.
After your boat ride, we head to the largest glacier in Slovenia, situated in the heart of the Julian Alps. We take a comfortable 15-minute walk to reach the source of the Sava Bohinjka River, where you can relax on the shores of the lake.
We'll also have a chance to stop by St. John's church, which is beautifully illustrated with frescoes in the 13th century and offers incredible mountain views. If you're feeling up for it, take a cable car ride up to the top of Mt. Vogel, where you can gaze out across the valley of this incredible part of Slovenia.
